Description

A climbing shrub. It has a tuber or fattened root. This produces a stalk each year. The leaves are broadly heart shaped. The fruit is a 2-5 seeded berry.

Edible Uses

The fruit are eaten.

Distribution

A tropical plant.

It is of little value.
