Description
An evergreen tree. It grows 30 m tall. The trunk can be 90-120 cm across. It can have buttresses. Fruit are 5-6 cm long. There is one large seed.
Edible Uses
Fruit - raw. The greenish-yellow pulp is very juicy. The greenish-yellow, ellipsoid to globose fruit is up to 5cm long and 6cm wide, containing a single large seed.

Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows in rainforests between 200-1,000 m above sea level. It suits areas with a long dry season.

Cultivation
A plant of the moist tropics, where it can be found at elevations from 200 - 1,000 metres. It can be grown in areas with a distinct and prolonged dry season, as well as in areas with no dry season. Improvement by selection could yield a palatable and appreciated fruit suitable for areas with long dry seasons, such as eastern Indonesia and northern Australia.
Production
In Indonesia plants flower March to December and fruit October to March.
