Description

A herb. The underground stem or rhizome has tubers. The stems are 40 cm long. The leaves are 1-3 cm long and divided. The flowers are in a spike. The fruit is an oval capsule 8-16 mm long. It has seeds 0.8-1 mm long.

Edible Uses

The fruit (oval capsules) is eaten.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant.
