Description

A straggling shrub. The leaves are oval at the base and taper to the tip. They are 7-13 cm long by 11-16 cm wide. The fruit are 20 mm long by 50 mm wide. They are in loose groups. The fruit are yellow berries that are pear shaped.

Edible Uses

The fruit pulp is sweet and edible; the seeds are bitter and used as a spice.
