Description

A tropical tree in the Annonaceae family found in humid forest zones of West Africa, cultivated for its edible fruit.

Edible Uses

We have no reports on the edibility of this species, though if the fruit has a fleshy pulp then that will be edible. The ellipsoid fruit is greyish brown with a purplish red or pale brown pulp, around 30 - 75mm in long and 25 - 50mm in diameter, composed of 100 - 125 fertile carpels each around 14 - 20mm long and 11 - 16mm in diameter.

It is a tropical plant. It grows in the humid forest zone in West Africa.
