Description

A subtropical to temperate fern in the Pteridaceae family, growing in forests across China at elevations between 300-2,800 m above sea level. Both the fronds and rhizomes provide edible material.

The fronds or leaves are cooked as a vegetable. The rhizomes are used for starch to make noodles.
