Source: WikipediaAllium funckiifolium is a plant species from Hubei and Sichuan Provinces in China. It grows in moist locales at elevations of 2200–2300 m. Allium funckiifolium is unusual in the genus in producing one large, egg-shaped to heart-shaped leaf up to 25 cm long and 16 cm across. Scape is up to 70 cm tall. Umbel is spherical with many white flowers.
Description
An onion family herb. It has a single bulb. There is one leaf. The leaf stalk is 9-15 cm long. The leaves are oval and 16-23 cm long by 7-16 cm wide. The base is heart shaped. The stalk is 35-65 cm long. The flowering head is round.
Edible Uses
The bulb is eaten.
Distribution
It is a temperate plant. It grows in forests and shady moist slopes and near streams between 2,200-2,300 m above sea level in China.
