Description
A tree. It grows 14 m tall. It has buttresses. The branches are thick and drooping. Young branches are reddish. The leaves are simple and entire and rough. They are clustered towards the ends of branches. The leaves are rough and shiny. They are broadly sword shaped. They are 15-36 cm long by 5-9 cm wide. The flower panicles are near the ends of branches. The flowers have a mango scent when crushed.
Edible Uses
The seeds are eaten.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows on plains near the coast. It grows up to 17 m above sea level.
