Description

A tropical fern of the Marattiaceae family found in rain forests and broad-leaved forests of Yunnan at 100-1,200 m elevation. It produces very long fronds reaching 2-4 m.

The roots are boiled as a vegetable, and the fronds and leaves are eaten.
