Description

A fern. It grows 35-75 cm tall. It has creeping underground rhizomes or stolons. The leaves on these parts are like scales. The main stem is branched and divided 3 or 4 times along the stem. The leafy branches are hairy underneath. The leaves on the main stem are larger than on the branches.

Edible Uses

The leaves and fronds are edible.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows on drier slopes in partly shaded places between 400-1,200 m above sea level in southern China. In Yunnan.
