A fern. It grows 50-200 cm long. There are some spine like lumps near the base. The main stems are branched along their length. There are 5-15 pairs of main leafy branches and these are divided 3 times. There are leaves in the axils of the main stem that are larger.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows in clearings in evergreen forests. It grows in moist places. In southern China it grows between 100-1,200 m above sea level. In Yunnan.
