Caladenia verrucosa, commonly known as the mallee spider orchid, is a plant in the orchid family Orchidaceae and is endemic to south-eastern Australia. It is a ground orchid with a single, hairy leaf and usually only one greenish-yellow and red flower.

Description

An orchid that grows in the ground. It grows 15-30 cm high. It has one hairy leaf 12 cm long. It has a single flower like a spider. It has 5 creamy green 'petals' with red-brown markings. They are 4 cm long. The tubers are eaten.

The tubers are eaten.

Distribution

It grows in the Mallee in Australia.
