Description

A climbing plant. It grows 3 m tall. It loses its leaves during the year. The roots have tuberous side roots. The stems have short spines near the base. The branches are twining. There are flattened leaf like stems that are narrow and slightly curved. They are 4-5 cm long and 1 mm wide.

Edible Uses

The shoots are eaten.

Distribution

It is a subtropical plant.
