Potentilla cuneata may refer to two different species of plants: Potentilla cuneata (Lindl.) Baill. ex Munz & I.M.Johnst., a taxonomic synonym for wedgeleaf horkelia (Potentilla lindleyi) Potentilla cuneata Wall. ex Lehm., a taxonomic synonym for cuneate cinquefoil (Sibbaldia cuneata)

Description

A herb or low shrub. The roots are slender and woody. The flowering stems are erect and 4-12 cm tall. The leaves are the base are 2-3 cm long. The leaves on the stem have 3 leaflets that are narrowly oval and 1-2 cm long by 4-8 mm wide. There are 1-2 flowers together at the ends of the branches. The flowers are 2-3 cm across. The petals are yelow.

The leaves, stems, and flowers are eaten; they are traditionally fried together with wheat grain and eaten as a vegetable.

Distribution

It is a temperate plant. It grows on the edges of forests and in alpine meadows between 2,700-3,600 m above sea level. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
