Description

A temperate tree in the Rosaceae family growing 5-15 m tall, native to mixed forests and mountain regions in northern China at 200-1,000 m elevation, and hardy in zones 3-9.

The fruit are eaten, though some varieties can be dry or bitter.

Distribution
