Description

A mushroom of the family Cyttariaceae growing about 6 cm high, found attached to Nothofagus glauca trees in humid areas of Chile from sea level to 2,000 m elevation.

Edible Uses

The fungus/mushroom is eaten.

Distribution

It grows on Nothofagus glauca. In Chile it grows from sea level to 2,000 m above sea level. It suits humid areas. It can tolerate some shade. It suits hardiness zone 8. It can tolerate some snow.
