Dendrocalamus sikkimensis is a bamboo species belonging to the Dendrocalamus genus. It has many branches that are normally orange in colour. It grows up to 18 metres (59 ft).

Description

A bamboo. It grows 10-18 m tall. The culms are 10-13 cm across. The internodes are orange and 46056 cm long. There are several branches. The leaves are 15-30 cm long by 4-7 cm wide.

Edible Uses

The shoots are harvested and eaten.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. In southern China it grows between 100-600 m above sea level. In Yunnan. In Cairns Botanical Gardens.
