Description

A medium sized tree. The end branches are 4 angled. The leaves are opposite and leathery. They are narrowly oval or sword shaped and 6-7 cm long by 2-2.5 cm wide. There are 20-30 veins on each side of the midrib. The flowers are in the axils of leaves and can occur singly or as 2-4 together. The fruit are 2 cm long and about 1 cm wide.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows in broad-leaved evergreen forest. In Taiwan it grows between 100-400 m above sea level.

Asia, China, Indochina, Malaysia, SE Asia, Taiwan, Thailand,

Production

In Taiwan plants flower in March and April and fruit in November and December.
