Syzygium cordifolium is a species of plant in the family Myrtaceae. It is endemic to Sri Lanka.

Description

A tree. It grows 10 m tall. The bark is finely ridged and cracked. The leaves are broadly oval and rounded or heart shaped at the base. Young leaves are purplish-red. The flowers are on long branches and are white. The fruit are round berries. They are 2 cm across.

Edible Uses

The round berries are edible.

Distribution

A tropical plant. It grows in mountain and rainforest and along streams.
