Description

A stout climber. The small branches are stout and black. The leaves are 11 cm long by 4 cm wide. There are many flowers in lumps in the axils of leaves. The fruit is a berry 3 cm across.

Edible Uses

The fruit is eaten.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows in evergreen forests.

Asia, India,

Production

In south India it flowers and fruits January to March.
