Thysanotus exiliflorus, commonly known as desert fringed lily, is a species of flowering plant in the Asparagaceae family, and is endemic to inland Australia. It is a tufted perennial herb with spindle-shaped tubers, linear leaves that wither before flowering, flowers arranged in panicles, with lance-shaped sepals, oblong, fringed petals, six stamens and a curved style.

Description

Thysanotus exiliflorus is a perennial plant reaching 0.2 m (8 in) tall. Hermaphroditic flowers. Adaptable to light sandy, medium loamy, and heavy clay soils with mildly acidic, neutral, and basic soil pH. Grows in semi-shade (light woodland) or full light, preferring moist soil.

A herb that keeps growing from year to year. It grows in tufts. It has tuberous roots. It grows 20 cm high. The flowers are purple.
