Description

A small tree. It grows 2-10 m tall. The trunk is often fluted and irregular. The bark is reddish and fibrous. The leaves are 8-13 cm long by 3-4 cm wide. The flowers are in a group 8-18 cm long with 20 or more flowers.

Edible Uses

Young leaves are sold in local markets.

Distribution

A tropical plant. It grows in seasonally flooded meadows.
