A herb or small shrub. It grows 60 cm tll. The stems have a brown coating. The leaves are in unequal pairs. The leaves are an oval or sword shape. They are 6-14 cm long by 2.2-5.5 cm wide. There are many flowers in a congested group. The capsules are 5 mm long by 10 mm wide.
Edible Uses
The plant is used as a vegetable.

It is a subtropical plant.
