Description

A herb. It grows 30-100 cm tall. The leaves are in tufts near the roots. The leaves are 60 cm long and slightly hairy. The flowers are small and compact and white to grey.

Edible Uses

Ash is used as a salt substitute.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It suits moist places and swamps.
