Disa aequiloba is a perennial plant and geophyte belonging to the genus Disa. The plant is found in Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania and Zambia.

Description

An orchid. It grows 20-40 cm tall. The leafy shoots are 4 cm long with leaves that point upwards and are 8 cm long by 8 mm wide. The flowering shoots are 20-50 cm tall. There are 10-30 flowers. They are cream to red with darker markings. The tubers are oval and 1.5-2 cm long by 1 cm wide.

Edible Uses

The tubers and roots are edible.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant.
