Description

An orchid. It is a herb with an erect stem. It grows 25-50 cm tall. The leaves at the base are flattened to the ground. They are 4-7 cm long by 5-8 cm wide. They are heart shaped at the base. There are several leaves along the stem. The flowering shoots are 4-12 cm long and with 3-15 flowers in a dense group. The flowers are white or greenish-white. The tubers are oval and 1.5-2.5 cm long by 1-2 cm wide.

Edible Uses

The tubers and roots are eaten.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant.
