A tropical tree in the Symplocaceae family, growing at elevations of 2,000-3,000 m.

Edible Uses

Fruit - the pulp is eaten. The dark bluish-purple, cylindrical to ellipsoid fruit is around 20 - 30mm × 15 - 20mm.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows between 2,000-3,000 m above sea level.
