Description
A shrub or small tree. It grows 2-3 m tall. The young shoots are stout and brownish-purple. They are scaly. The leaves are narrowly oval and 10-17 cm long by 3-7 cm wide. They narrow to the base. The tip is rounded. They are pale white underneath. The flowers are in groups of 3-5 at the ends of branches. They have a scent.
Edible Uses
The flowers are edible.
Distribution
It is a temperate plant. It grows in evergreen broad-leaved forests between 2,200-3,000 m above sea level. In Yunnan.
