Description
An orchid. It grows attached to trees. The stems are robust and 47 cm long. The leaves are broad sword shaped and 11 cm long by 2-5 cm wide. The flowering shoot comes from behind the tip on the older leafless stems. It arches over and is 5-14 cm long. There are 7 flowers. The flowers are 5 cm across and orange to yellow with a red lip.
Edible Uses
The flowers are edible.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows on tree trunks in open forests between 600-2,500 m above sea level in southern China. In Yunnan.
