Description

A temperate wild onion (Allium vavilovii) native to southern Turkmenistan and northeastern Iran, belonging to the Amaryllidaceae family. It is one of the closest known relatives of the common onion among approximately 1,000 Allium species.

Edible Uses

The leaves and bulbs are edible.

Distribution

It is a temperate plant.
