A shrub or small tree. It can grow 25 m tall. The fruit are bright orange and occur in clusters of 4 to 6. The fruit are 4 cm long by 2 cm wide. They contain one seed. There is a thin layer of pulp around the seed.
Edible Uses
The fruit is eaten.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows in the wetlands of the Amazon. It can grow up to 1,800 m above sea level.
