Source: WikipediaEriogonum pusillum is a species of wild buckwheat known by the common name yellowturbans. It is native to the western United States where it grows in sandy soils in a number of habitats, especially in the Mojave Desert and Great Basin.
Description
A herb. It is a spreading plant and grows each year from seed. The leaves are at the base and are oval to oblong and 0.5-2.5 cm long by 0.4-2 cm wide. They have a white coating. The flowers are yellow and become red. The seeds are dark brown and 0.6-0.8 mm long.
Edible Uses
The seeds are pounded and eaten dry. The flowers are mixed with valley stickweed seeds and eaten.
