Description
A shrub or climber. It can be a tall woody climber. It grows 4 m tall. The leaves are oval with a heart shaped base. They are 4-20 cm long by 2-7 cm wide. The flowers are white or red. They are in clusters. The fruit are oval and red. They have reddish hairs.
Edible Uses
The fruit is eaten.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. In East Africa it grows between 1,150-1,800 m above sea level. It grows in evergreen forest. It can grow in arid places.
