Description
A bamboo or rattan. The stems are 6-8 m long and 4 cm across. The internodes are 20-30 cm long. There are 4-8 leaves on the last branch. The leaf blade is 10-16 cm long by 1 cm wide. The flowers are in a panicle on the end of leafy shoots.
Edible Uses
The shoots are eaten and enjoyed as food.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. In Yunnan it grows between 1,400-2,000 m above sea level.
