Description
A bamboo. It grows 2-4 m tall. The culms are 1-3 cm across. The internodes are 35-40 cm long. There are 6-8 branches at each node. There are 2 or 3 leaves on the last branch. The leaf blade is 9-14 cm long by 1 cm wide.
Edible Uses
The shoots are eaten and are known to be consumed by giant pandas.
Distribution
It is a temperate plant. It grows in Sichuan and Yunnan in China between 2,000-3,200 m altitude.
