Description

A small tree. It grows 9 m tall. The trunk is 12 cm across. The leaves are alternate. The leaves are sword shaped. The fruit are oval and green. They are 8 cm long by 5 cm across.

Edible Uses

The fruit is eaten.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows between 300-1,500 m above sea level. It grows in desert regions.

Ecuador, Peru, South America,

There are about 250 Capparis species. There are about 50 Capparis species in tropical America.
