Description
A tropical tree in the Malvaceae family (sometimes placed in Sterculiaceae), with edible seeds rich in potassium (860 mg), magnesium (230 mg), and calcium (200 mg) per serving.
Edible Uses
The soft light timber has a wavy texture and is used for cases. Aboriginal people traditionally use the fibres for fishing nets. The fruits are edible and taste like other fig varieties.

There are about 30 Brachychiton species. Most are in Australia. The seeds contain 860 mg potassium, 230 mg magnesium, 200 mg calcium. Also put in the family Sterculiaceae. Not in The Plant List.
