Thelymitra fragrans, commonly called the fragrant sun orchid, is a species of orchid that is endemic to eastern Australia. It has a single glossy, limp leaf and up to eleven strongly scented blue flowers with a deeply notched V-shape on the anther above the column.

Description

A ground orchid. It has one leaf. It is 30 cm long and 22 mm wide. The flower spike is 35 cm high. There are up to 11 pink flowers.

Edible Uses

The rhizomes and roots are edible.

Distribution

It is a subtropical plant. It grows on sunny rocky outcrops amongst moss and lichens.
