Description
A shrub. It grows 4 m tall. The leaves are opposite. The flower spikes are at the ends of branches. The flowers have 5 parts. The outer part of the flower is cylinder shaped. The fruit are round and do not have a stalk. They are 0.5-0.7 cm across. They are dark red. The pulp is edible. There are 5 hard seed cases with 1 seed in each.
Edible Uses
The fruit pulp is edible.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows in scrub savanna.
