Description

A shrub. It loses its leaves during the year. It rows 1-2 m tall. The leaves are leathery when mature and are hairy underneath. The young leaves are still present when flowers appear. The flower stalks are very hairy. The flowers occur singly. The fruit are round and yellow. They are 2 cm across. The pulp is acid and juicy.

It is a tropical plant. It grows naturally in the savannas in Brazil.
