Description

An erect straggling bamboo. It grows 18 m high. The stems have no spines. The leaves are small. The spikelets are densely covered with rather stiff or bristly hairs. The keels of the flowers have a prominent line of hairs.

Distribution

A tropical plant. It occurs in the mountain ranges of Nueva Vizcaya about 600 m altitude in the Philippines.

There are about 120 Bambusa species. They are tropical and subtropical in Asia.
