Lacunaria crenata is a species of flowering plant in the family Ochnaceae, native from Central America to Brazil. It was first described by Edmond Tulasne in 1849 as Quiina crenata.

Description

A tree. It grows 13 m tall The trunk is cylinder shape and the crown is oblong. The branches are spreading The leaves have 3 or 4 leaflets and there are rounded teeth along the edge. The flower panicles are at the ends of branches. They are 3-7 cm long.

Edible Uses

The fruit is eaten.

Distribution

A tropical plant. It grows in rainforest and mountain rainforest.

Notes

There are 10 Lacunaria species. They occur in Central America. Also put in the family Quiinaceae.
