Description

A tree. It grows 20-45 m tall. The trunk can be 100 cm across. It has red sap. The bark has cracks along it. The leaves are narrowly oval and 5-27 cm long by 2-9 cm wide. The flowers are in spikes like groups in the axils of leaves. The pods are disk shaped and 25-39 mm long by 24-36 mm wide and 16-27 mm thick.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It has been recorded in Western Province in Papua New Guinea, near the Fly River. It grows in swamp forests near river flats.
