Description
A herb. It can grow 2 m tall. The leaves are oval to sword shaped and 10-25 cm long by 2-6 cm wide. They have a wedge shaped base and taper to the tip. They have white hairs underneath. The flowers are pink and in dense spikes.
Edible Uses
It has been found in analysis of the intestinal contents of the Tollund Man body, found in peat in Denmark in 1950.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant.
