A bamboo. It grows 11 m tall. The culms are 3-5 cm across. The internodes are 24 cm long. The sheaths are red-brown. There are 1 or 2 leaves on the end of branches. The leaf blade is 10-13 cm long by 1.5-2 cm wide.
Edible Uses
The shoots are eaten.
Distribution
It is a temperate plant.
