Disa celata is a perennial plant and geophyte belonging to the genus Disa. The plant is native to Angola, Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia.

Description

An orchid. The leafy shoots are 7 cm long and have 1 leaf 10-20 cm long by 0.5-1 cm wide. The flowering shoots are 30-50 cm long with leaves that sheath the stem. The flowers are yellow to orange.

Edible Uses

The tubers and roots are edible.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant.
