Description
A tree. It grows about 10 m tall. The fruit are 4-5 cm long by 4-6 cm wide. They have a smooth skin and turn orange to yellow when ripe. The skin is thin. There is one brown seed 1.2 cm long by 1.8 cm wide.
Edible Uses
The fruit is eaten fresh and enjoyed locally.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows as an understorey tree in the higher parts of the floodplains in the Amazon.

Trees produce fruit when about 6 m tall.
