Description

A herb or small shrub. It grows 50 cm high. The flowers are red. They have 5 petals.

The leaves are edible.

Distribution

It is a temperate plant. In Chile it grows between 500-2,000 m altitude. In Argentina it grows between 3,200-4,000 m above sea level. It can grow in drier areas. It can tolerate some shade. It suits hardiness zone 7. It can tolerate frost and snow.
