Description
A foliose jelly lichen (Collemataceae) found in wetter coastal temperate regions such as California, growing on tree bark including bigleaf maple. It is blackish-green when wet and dark brownish-green to olive when dry, with dark purple-brown apothecia distributed across the thallus.
Edible Uses
The lichen is edible.
