Description

A medium sized evergreen tree. It grows 20 m tall. The end branches are flattened. The leaves are simple, opposite and papery. They are dark green. They are narrowly oval and 8-11 cm long by 2-4 cm wide. The flowering shoots are at the ends of branches and are 4-6 cm long. The fruit are oval and 2 cm across. They are white but turn dark red when ripe. There is one large seed.

The fruit can be eaten raw, or processed into juice, jam, and jelly.
